I had first cyclocross race with Tricross last Sunday at Kelly Creek Farms (Bonney Lake Area). It was packed.
In my MasterMenCat4 35yr+ group at least I finished in the top half (click on post title for results link). 3.5 laps around 1.5mi course in 33:17.
I felt good the first 1.5 laps and then started to fade a little until the very end. Good times though and great to see all the other Team Sega folks out there too.
There is definitely a craft knowing what part of mud/grass/dirt/gravel is fastest. The mild uphills is usually were I get passed, but I caught a lot of riders on steep uphills and downhills. Passing is basically just bumping other riders out of the way!
Yesterday I had a daily double of rides with Tricross. From work - Auburn to Renton and back - bought water bottle cage/bottle for Tricross at Center Cycles. Now I can stop riding with Camelback!! In the evening I rode with Nick and Keith around Lake Young trail - great cyclocross practice.
Here is gmaps of both rides (Lake Young is a guessimate):
